Duties of Architects:

· Design building structure and outlook
· Meet with clients to determine objectives and requirements for structures
· Give preliminary estimates on cost and construction time
· Prepare structure specifications
· Direct workers who prepare drawings and documents
· Prepare scaled drawings, either with computer software or by hand
· Prepare contract documents for building contractors
· Manage construction contracts
· Visit worksites to ensure that construction adheres to architectural plans
· Seek new work by marketing and giving presentations

Construction Management

Construction Management is a service that uses specialized project management techniques to oversee the planning, design and the construction as well as the time, cost, safety record and quality of a project from the beginning to the end.

Duties of Construction Managers:

· Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and work timetables
· Interpret and explain contracts and technical information to other professionals

Quantity Surveying

Duties of Quality Control Inspectors:

· Read blueprints and specifications
· Monitor operations to ensure that they meet production standards
· Recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process
· Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced
· Measure products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers
· Operate electronic inspection equipment and software
· Accept or reject finished items
· Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications
· Report inspection and test data such as weights, temperatures, grades, moisture content, and quantities inspected

Town/ City Planning (Urban Planning / Urban Development)

The mushrooming of commercial buildings such as office towers and shopping malls in Malaysia shall requires more professions in this Industry.

Duties of Property / Real Estate:

· Meet with prospective renters and show them properties
· Discuss the lease and explain the terms of occupancy or ownership
· Collect monthly fees from tenants or individual owners
· Inspect all building facilities, including the grounds and equipment
· Arrange for new equipment or repairs as needed
· Pay bills or delegate bill payment for such expenditures as taxes, insurance, payroll, and maintenance
· Contract for trash removal, maintenance, landscaping, security, and other services
· Investigate and settle complaints, disturbances, and violations
· Keep records of rental activity and owner requests
· Prepare budgets and financial reports
· Comply with anti-discrimination laws when renting or advertising, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Federal Fair Housing Amendment Act, and local fair housing laws
